Director of Facilities Maintenance provides strategic and
operational leadership for plant operations within an acute care
hospital. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, compliant,
and reliable physical environment that supports continuous patient
care, clinical excellence, and organizational goals. The Director
serves as a key partner to hospital leadership, ensuring that
critical infrastructure systems—such as utilities, emergency power,
HVAC, medical gas, and life safety systems—operate at peak
performance. A proactive, visible leader is essential, balancing
regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and team development
while responding to the dynamic demands within an acute healthcare
setting. Responsibilities Direct all facilities maintenance,
engineering, and plant operations for an acute care hospital.
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, and Life Safety
standards. Oversee utilities, medical gas systems, emergency power,
and critical infrastructure. Lead preventive maintenance,
reliability, and emergency preparedness programs. Manage budgets,
capital projects, and contracted services. Develop, mentor, and
lead high-performing facilities teams. Collaborate with clinical
and operational leaders to support patient safety and care
delivery. Essential Skills Expert facility operations management
across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems. Strong
regulatory compliance knowledge including Joint Commission, CMS,
OSHA, NFPA, and state/local codes. Leadership of maintenance and
engineering teams with a focus on safety, accountability, and
service excellence. Project and construction oversight for
renovations, expansions, and capital improvements. Emergency
preparedness and risk management including fire safety, hazard
mitigation, and incident response. Budget and vendor management
with experience optimizing operational and capital resources.
Proficiency with CMMS and building automation systems to drive
efficiency and reliability. Strong communication and collaboration
skills supporting clinical operations and patient-centered
environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications 5-7 years of
facilities management leadership experience in an acute care
hospital setting preferred. Strong working knowledge of healthcare
regulatory and life safety requirements. Demonstrated success in
managing complex hospital infrastructure. CHFM, or similar

This is a Permanent position based out of El Paso, TX. Pay and
Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 -
$118000.00/yr. Budgeted $10k hiring incentive ($5k paid at 90 days;
$5k paid at 1 year) Relocation Assistance (reimbursable upon
receipts): $5k - $8k Director will manage (3) salaried VRI Team
members – Manager of Sierra Campus, Manager of Specialty Campus &
an office Manager Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in
