The Associate Dean of Clinical Education (Associate Dean) is
responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinical education within
the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. The Associate Dean
works in collaboration with the academic leadership team to assure
the availability of clinical learning experiences within the degree
program(s) and oversees the conduct of those experiences. This
position reports to the Dean/ Chief Academic Officer of the
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, strategic direction, oversight, and management
for the college in areas related to clinical education.
Works in collaboration with other administrators, faculty, staff,
residents, and students to ensure compliance with accreditation
Makes periodic assessments of the quality and uniformity of
clinical education conducted at all Burrell teaching affiliates and
Recruits clinical faculty and training sites in sufficient numbers
and diversity of services to assure compliance with accreditation
Provides clinical expertise to the Office of Student Affairs for
Participate in the delivery of the pre-clinical curriculum as
needed and requested.
Other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies :
Budget preparation and management
Excellent writing skills
Project planning and implementation
DO or MD Degree
At least 10 years of clinical experience including 5 years of
experience in medical education
Record of academic scholarship and research
Academic leadership experience including Graduate Medical
Experience with curriculum development and learning assessment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Project management experience
