Job Description Job Description Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate is needed for a K-12 public school located in Chaparral, NM. This contract position runs through the current school year (CSY) with an immediate start and an end-of-school-year timeline. The caseload is approximately 60 students, including support for structured communication classrooms (SCCs). The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), though prior AAC expertise is not required. Bilingual SLPs are highly preferred, but monolingual candidates are also welcome as there are already two bilingual SLPs on staff who are supportive and collaborative. Key qualifications include: NM state licensure (must be active or already applied for) PED certification through the New Mexico Department of Education (can be pending at start) SLP certification with CCC credentials preferred Willingness to learn and support a diverse caseload within a supportive district environment Ability to work onsite full-time preferred; part-time onsite candidates will also be considered No current need for vocational evaluations (voco) but the situation is being discussed This district is known for its supportive community and values the partnership with contracted professionals. The caseload encompasses various therapy needs, and candidates will focus on current therapy without concerns about compensatory service obligations for the time being. The position is conveniently located near Las Cruces, NM, and is accessible for candidates from nearby El Paso, TX, as well as surrounding areas such as Deming, Truth or Consequences, and near White Sands National Park.
