Applicants may contact this person if they have questions about this positionDepartment Contact Name: Karen HamiltonDepartment Contact Email: Requisition Number 1901941S Target Hourly/Salary Rate $74,460 - $83,640 Salary commensurate with education, experience, and skill sets Pay Level 12Pay Base Salary JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide RF and electrical analysis of a variety of military systems- Work with engineering team to perform research and development to support development of RF Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) electronic protection and attack systems- Develop specifications and requirements for RF, analog, digital, and power systems- Design, evaluate, and document RF, analog, digital, and power systems- Provide expertise and technical support to the engineering and operations team- Repair RF, analog, digital, and power systems- Provide technical guidance and assistance to junior engineers- Assist in the develop of short and long range schedules and ensure schedules are met- Provide input for progress and status reports REQUIREMENTS:Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlinedBachelor's degree in Engineering. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:- Must be a U.S. Citizen- Current Active or Interim clearance is preferred or must be able to obtain clearance within six (6) months of start of employment- Must maintain clearance throughout employmentWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Performs an assortment of moderately complex research and development engineering duties such as developing, designing, and evaluating new approaches to meet project objectives, planning of manufacturing and fabrication, and the installation, operation, and maintenance of complex apparatus. Provides support to activities in the use of electrical devices for commercial, domestic, and industrial use. Works directly with engineers in other disciplines to enhance production, quality and meet customer specifications and requirements. May provide work guidance and training to lower level professional and technical staff. Classification Standard Duties: Manages projects which may require the use of sophisticated project planning techniques. Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the work of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Carries out feasibility studies for new technical innovations. Draws up plans and specifications for moderately complex projects, using computer-assisted engineering and design software. Estimates material, and labor costs, and project timelines. May coordinate the work of other engineers, technicians and craftspeople. Tests installations and systems, and analyzes data making sure projects meet applicable system requirements. Oversees inspection and maintenance programs. Attends meetings, writes reports and gives presentations to managers and clients. Knowledge:Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Can apply engineering principles, and models when conducting experiments and research activities. Understanding of design and testing methodologies required for new electrical, mechanical, or electromagnetic components, equipment, systems, and networks. Skills:Excellent communication skills. Excellent engineering, math, science, technology and IT skills. Excellent team-working and people skills. Good budgetary skills. Strong decision-making skills. Abilities:Ability to analyze complex problems and assess possible solutions. The ability to explain design ideas clearly. The ability to prioritize and plan effectively. Ability to direct, evaluate, train and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information.
