Summary of Job: The Behavioral Health Technician II (BHT II) acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of individuals served by providing empathic, active listening skills, case management and support services in order to maximize the opportunity to create recovery partnerships and a recovery environment. The BHT II is also responsible for engaging with individuals in the community, outside of the center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --- Connects with new participants, on site or in the community wherever the individual is located. This may include hospitals, ER's, individual's residence, community provider offices, shelters, etc., to obtain referral information and necessary solutions. --- Collaborates in the creation of individualized crisis treatment plans with participants and treatment team members under the supervision of a licensed professional. --- Provides individual and group support activities under the supervision of a licensed professional. --- Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools. --- Cultivates connectedness in the person's life (self, others, the environment, and to meaning and purpose). --- Assesses emergency situations, notifies supervisor of actual or potential challenges, exercises judgement in stressful conditions and responds calmly and quickly. --- Completes clinical documentation as required. --- Develops and maintains community resources for education, information and referrals appropriate to participant's needs. --- Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. --- Performs other related duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. --- Basic computer skills. --- Ability to problem solve. --- Ability to document per regulatory guidelines. --- Effective communication skills. --- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or --- Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience. Driving Requirements: --- Driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in RI International driving policy. --- Outstanding driving record. A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process. Physical Demands : May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. Ability to operate a vehicle. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds. Work Environment May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused. Work will include travel throughout the geographic region. ADDENDUM - Arizona Education --- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or --- Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience. Requirement ADDENDUM - California Education --- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or --- Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience. Requirement ADDENDUM - Delaware Education --- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or --- Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience. Requirement ADDENDUM - North Carolina Education --- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or --- Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience. Requirement ADDENDUM - Washington Education --- Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or --- Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or --- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience.
