Job Description Job Description The Automation Technician provides production support and performs preventive maintenance on automated equipment. Support the integration of new automation projects while ensuring reliable operation of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, robotic, and PLC-controlled systems in a manufacturing environment. Scheduled is from 6am-2:30pm Monday through Friday! Key Responsibilities: Automation & Equipment Support · Provide daily production support for automated equipment. · Perform preventive maintenance on automated machinery. · Follow up on equipment downtime and support root cause identification. · Support integration and startup of new automated equipment and projects. · Support Production, Industrial, and Quality engineering departments Programming & Technical Support · Perform basic robot programming and adjustments. · Perform basic PLC programming and troubleshooting. · Support electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems at a basic to intermediate level. Continuous Improvement · Participate in continuous improvement activities. · Apply 5S and 5-Why methodologies to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Failure Analysis & Inventory · Support failure analysis and troubleshooting activities. · Assist with spare parts inventory tracking and control. Education / Experience: · High School or Technical degree required; college degree preferred. · Education level may be substituted with equivalent years of experience. · Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required. · Ideal experience level: 3 years. Preferred Qualifications: · Mechanical integration and equipment maintenance (1–3 years). · PLC programming experience (1–2 years). Skills: · Basic knowledge of electricity, electronics, and pneumatics. · Basic PLC and robot programming skills. · Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (5S, 5 Whys). · Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. · Strong sense of responsibility and results-driven mindset aligned with company goals. Work Environment Manufacturing and production environment. Exposure to automated machinery, electrical systems, and industrial equipment. Use of PPE required as applicable. Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. Ability to lift tools or equipment as required.
