This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services ( DBHDS ) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of the Safety Director/Environment of Care.

The Safety Director/Environment of Care for the B&G Department assuring compliance with TJC , CMS Compliance, Fire Protection, and Emergency Preparedness. Responsible for Environmental and Hazardous Materials and Waste requirements. To provide timely, relevant, and accurate review of Environment of Care Compliance at ESH . To provide staff education regarding standards of practice and accrediting bodies' requirements, facility policies and procedures as well as SOP's relevant to safety and environment of care. To collect data, produce reports, analyze data, facilitate performance improvement, and make presentations as needed. This position is responsible for the design and operation of the hospital Safety, EOC Compliance, equipment maintenance contract, and Emergency Operations areas. Facilitates in Hospital Life Safety Code Surveys as needed.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need. All ESH positions are required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays. Minimum Qualifications --- Extensive knowledge of TJC , CMS , Fire Protection, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental and Hazardous Materials and Waste

--- Experience utilizing and interpreting relevant resources including but not limited to LSC , TJC , and CMS standards.

--- Experience in monitoring activities that insures continuous compliance with all environment rules and regulations from the Federal EPA and State DEQ .

--- Experience in implementing and maintaining the MS4 Stormwater Program, Spill Plan, VEEP , SARA II, Operational and Emission/Annual updates, and Underground Storage Tanks Compliance.

--- Experience in facilitating and/or assists with trainings and development of training materials.

--- Experience providing oversight for Forklift Certification, Interim Life Safety Measures, MSDS Compliance, GHS , and Fire Marshall Inspections.

--- Experience in future Snapshot Surveys, coordinates FEMA submissions with RM/QA and oversees Confined Space Entry processes.

--- Experience in monitoring and tracking the scheduling of all testing with DOO , HVAC Supervisor and Building Staff.

---Ability to assist with N95 fit testing and coordination of all facility PPE supplies. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a safety manager or director preferred.
