Position Details:
--- Title: Manager of Network Operations
--- Location: Las Cruces, NM
--- Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000

Position Description:
The company is seeking an experienced Manager of Network Operations to oversee the performance, monitoring, and optimization of our satellite and on-net networks across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to manage complex network infrastructures. This position requires a proactive approach to ensuring the health and performance of company's satellite networks, including the Las Cruces and Petaluma gateways.

Key Responsibilities:
Network Management:
--- Oversee the health and performance of the Las Cruces and Petaluma gateways, as well as on-net company satellite networks.
--- Develop systems and staff to ensure 24x7 proactive monitoring and alarms, identifying and resolving network issues before they impact service.
--- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure the proper maintenance and upgrade of network equipment, power systems, and environmental controls.
--- Implement strategies to optimize network performance, minimize downtime, and maximize network efficiency.
Performance Optimization:
--- Analyze network performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary optimizations.
--- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance network reliability, including network capacity planning, traffic engineering, and resource optimization.
--- Monitor and optimize network resource utilization to avoid bottlenecks and ensure efficient allocation of network resources.
Reporting and Analysis:
--- Prepare regular reports on network performance, operational metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for leadership.
--- Utilize data analysis tools to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential issues.
--- Maintain a comprehensive network documentation repository, ensuring that all network operations are well-documented and easy to reference.
Team Leadership:
--- Lead and guide the network operations team, including Network Operations Center Manager, Teleport Manager, and other team members.
--- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment, ensuring clear communication and information sharing within the team.
--- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members, ensuring continuous improvement and growth.
Vendor Management:
--- Build and maintain positive relationships with key network equipment and service vendors.
--- Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely review and approval of vendor invoices.

Qualifications:
--- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master's preferred).
--- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in network operations, preferably in telecommunications or satellite industry.
--- Proven experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network issues.
--- Expertise in network design, architecture, and configuration.
--- Knowledge of virtualization, cloud computing, and network automation technologies.
--- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, SNMP) and network security best practices.
--- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating network tasks.
--- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and network performance metrics.
--- Certifications in network engineering or security (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP) are a plus.
--- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
--- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
