Job Description:

Memorial Medical CenterProvides oversight, has responsibility, and supports various functions of the Medical Staff Services department includingcredentialing providers, FPPE/OPPE, medical staff meeting management, dissemination of information for the Medical Staff,Medical Staff compliance, and development/maintenance of Medical Staff Governing Documents and manuals.-- --- -Specific Tasks Performed (including but not limited to): Has oversight and responsibility over the Medical Staff Office credentialing specialists, FPPE/OPPE staff, and administrative assistant to ensure appropriate function of Medical Staff services. Maintains expert knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Appendixes, and Policies.-- - Reviews and proposes revisions to said documents with guidance from Committee Chairs, Medical Staff Leaders and Chief Medical Officer as needed. Has oversight of and follows Medical Staff Bylaws and Credentials Committee Operational Policies and manual for credentialing of providers for appointment and reappointment. Reviews, revises, and develops new Medical Staff policies and procedures, as needed, in conjunction with the President of the Medical Staff and the Chief Medical Officer. Monitors and assures Medical Staff complies with legal requirements related to state and DEA licenses, liability insurance, board certification, ACLS, ATLS, ALSO, PALS, NRP, BLS, Moderate Sedation privileges, etc.-- - Has oversight of and notifies providers of upcoming expirations as time allows. Maintains current clinical privilege delineation forms and scope of practice forms.-- - Revises forms as necessary.-- - Ensures revised forms are submitted to the various committees for approval. Has oversight of and ensures that database and paper files of all providers, both current and archived, are maintained and updated, as applicable. Has oversight for FPPE/OPPE program of the Medical Staff Office. Has oversight and responsibility to ensure Call schedule is posted and up to date. Has oversight and responsibility to ensure the Intranet site is current with Medical Staff credentials lists, medical staff phone list, medical staff membership list and call schedule. Has oversight and responsibility to ensure various medical staff meetings are managed appropriately, including setting agendas with the appropriate chair(s), recording minutes, distributing related materials and ensuring minutes and documents flow up to the next level of Committees/ Board for review and/or approval. Acts as a resource for the Chief Medical Officer, President of the Medical Staff and other Medical Staff leaders. Works closely with Physician services, Quality staff and CEO Executive Assistant. Has oversight and responsibility for hospital orientation for all new providers. Conducts annual review of Medical Staff monitoring in preparation for the Joint Commission survey and participates in TJC Survey.-- - Assists with other surveys as necessary Apprises Chief Medical Officer and/or Senior Management of any Medical Staff issues as needed. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Ensures fiscal responsibility for funds expended through the Medical Staff Office and control of supply costs.
