Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Ultrasound
Tech/Sonographer Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift:
Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year
preferred License: State Licensure required if relevant
Certifications: Requires one of the following: Sonography (S) by
ARRT Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)
RDMS by ARDMS Preferred certifications: Vascular Sonography (VS) by
ARRT Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT Breast (BR) RDMS by ARDMS Adult
Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS Registered Vascular
Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS Description: The Ultrasound
Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced
imaging procedures. The technologist will provide support for other
imaging technologists as needed. They will help facilitate smooth
and efficient patient flow. The Ultrasound Technologist must be
able to handle the movement, setup, and operation of medical
ultrasound equipment. Flexibility in working different shifts and
locations may be required as needed. The technologist is expected
to troubleshoot basic maintenance and participate in quality
assurance. They will resolve issues related to image processing and
the image archiving system. Participation in ongoing education,
safety, and technical advances within the scope of licensure is
required. The technologist will maintain the expected imaging
competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication
skills must align with the organization’s mission, values, and
culture. Responsibilities include: Meeting expectations of
applicable competencies for self-leadership. Demonstrating
adherence to core values. Maintaining consistency with
administrative and departmental policies in behavior, dress,
attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and
reliability. Promoting staff growth, development, and engagement by
collaborating with management and coworkers. Providing meaningful
assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to promote
physician satisfaction. Performing all duties while protecting
patient confidentiality and not disclosing information unless
necessary. Adapting patient assessments and care methods to
accommodate unique patient needs. Ensuring compliance with all
relevant policies, procedures, and standards of care. Performing
examinations to assist in patient throughput within the scope of
licensure and competencies. Demonstrating flexibility by working
alternative shifts and locations as required. Ensuring completed
exams are correctly scanned and stored in the imaging system.
Following downtime procedures and escalating any issues related to
the imaging system as needed. Troubleshooting equipment
malfunctions and reporting them appropriately. Performing
additional duties as assigned. Education/Skills: Graduate of an
accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or equivalent required.
Basic computer experience is required. In accordance with
certification verification policies, obtaining required
certifications within the designated time frame is necessary. Work
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 9 PM to 7
AM. Work Type: Full Time Type of Patients: Emergency Room,
Inpatient, Outpatient, Pediatrics.
