Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN license with Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit experience Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for stepdown-level patients Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required prior to start New Mexico fingerprinting and background check compliance required; a supervised waiver period of up to 14 days is allowed while completing this process Strong communication and critical thinking skills to manage complex patient needs effectively Responsibilities and Duties: Provide direct nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to less acute settings Monitor vital signs, ECGs, and other clinical indicators closely to detect changes in condition Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans Educate patients and families on post-acute care and recovery Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing activities Position Details: Contract assignment located in Las Cruces, NM Orientation held weekly on Mondays Strict compliance with New Mexico Department of Health requirements, including fingerprinting and clinical credential verification This contract role presents an excellent opportunity to advance your nursing career in a supportive and accredited healthcare environment while enjoying the unique lifestyle and recreational benefits of southern New Mexico.
