This contract opportunity offers experienced Registered Nurses the chance to work in a Joint Commission Accredited facility renowned for compassionate patient care and advanced clinical services. Location: Las Cruces, NM Las Cruces is known for its year-round sunshine and stunning natural landscapes including White Sands National Park and the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks. The city embraces outdoor recreation with over 250 miles of scenic hiking and biking trails, plus opportunities for ATV riding, hunting, and horseback riding. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care in a step-down unit following established protocols Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes promptly to interdisciplinary team Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans Educate patients and families on disease management, recovery, and discharge instructions Desired Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, with Step-down unit experience preferred Certifications as required by New Mexico state regulations, including LPNT Ability to comply with New Mexico fingerprinting and background check mandates Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills Schedule & Contract Details: Contract position with orientation held weekly on Mondays Local travel candidates must live 60 miles away to qualify for travel Additional Information: Memorial Medical Center has 199 beds and is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI capabilities The facility is recognized through regional awards for clinical excellence and patient satisfaction This contract role provides an excellent chance to engage in meaningful nursing care in a supportive and technologically advanced environment.
