Dona Ana Community College (DACC) is a comprehensive,
learning-centered community college dedicated to a diverse

Position SummaryTeach 36 credit hours over fall, spring and summer
semesters. Conduct classroom assessment of student learning and
participate in program/division/college assessment. Teaching
assignment may include day, evenings, weekends, and/or multiple
campus locations. Develop, revise and update curriculum in
collaboration with the department faculty and director or chair.
May develop and teach online courses. Instruct, support, advise and
provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy
and procedures. Participate in and serve on department, division,
and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces and
working groups. Maintain professional and academic competence and
participate in professional development activities. As appropriate,
assist with cooperative education or clinical work site development
and student placement. Maintain office hours as mandated by
division and college policy. Participate in student recruitment
activities. Function as advisor to students, both individually and
as assigned to student clubs and groups. Perform other related
duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Technology,
Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology,
Engineering Technology or field related to Computer and Information
Technology combined with two of the following criteria:18 credits
of post graduate computer technology education, ortwo years of
documented related business/industry work experience (within the
past eight years) that reflects recent developments in the Computer
and Information Technology
ORMaster's Degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science,
Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering Technology
or field related to Computer and Information Technology.
Preferred Qualifications (optional)Community college teaching
experience incorporating assessment of student learning, engaging
student participations, hands-on teaching strategies, and learning
technologies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
demonstrating a commitment to engage and work collaboratively with
students, colleagues, staff, supervisors, and community.Commitment
to improving instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing
innovative methodologies, techniques for traditional and distance
education delivery, and continued professional development
including willingness to attain industry-specific
certifications.Five or more years of professional and/or management
experience directly related to Computer Information
Technology.Industry recognized certification in hardware, networks,
operating systems, and/or programming that may include
certification from Certiport, Cisco, Citrix Systems, CompTIA,
Juniper, Linux/Unix, Microsoft, Oracle, Palo Alto and/or other
recognized industry vendors.Endorsement of the teaching philosophy
of DACC that supports a goal of success for all students through
hands-on learning experiences, strong faculty involvement, and
proactive curriculum development.Bilingual competence in Spanish
and English.
Special Requirements of the PositionBachelor's Degree must be in
hand by date of hire.Obtaining Master's Degree or becoming a
Certified Cisco Networking Academy Instructor are requirements for
tenure.
