Job Description Job Description Position: Product Engineering Technician Position Summary: The Product Engineering Technician provides technical and operational support to the Product Engineering team. This role focuses on diagnosing hardware issues, performing initial troubleshooting on customer systems, and collecting accurate data for root cause analysis. The technician serves as the first level of engineering support on the production floor, following established engineering procedures. Key Responsibilities: Recover and configure FRU/VPD as needed Follow all safety and operational procedures Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives Configure network switch ports for connectivity testing Execute test guides (TSG) and follow standard debug procedures Maintain 5S standards and manage tools and equipment inventory Document findings clearly in tracking systems and support escalations Perform firmware updates, system configuration, and connectivity restoration Conduct experiments (DOE), error injections, and collect data for failure analysis Use tools such as serial console/SSH, multimeter (as required), and assembly tools Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot L10/L11 system failures (PCIe, sensors, firmware) using Linux tools and component replacement Minimum Requirements: Basic knowledge of Linux command line 3 years of experience in a similar technical role Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Experience working with hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting Technical degree (or currently pursuing) in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field Preferred Qualifications: Entry-level Linux or hardware certifications Familiarity with ticketing or tracking systems Basic Python knowledge for log review or data extraction Experience with server systems and hardware components Basic networking knowledge (switches, VLANs, port configuration) Experience in production, testing, or technical support environments Company Description Balance Staffing is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
