The Quality and Medical Staff Manager will have primary
oversight of the facility-wide patient safety program. The
leadership role will direct others within the facility towards
process improvements that will support the reduction of
medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to
unintended adverse patient outcomes. The Patient Safety and Quality
Officer provides leadership for safety assessments, coordinates the
activities of the patient safety committee, educates other
practitioners on the system-based causes for medical error,
consults with management and staff, and communicates
literature-based ideas regarding effective patient safety
strategies to others within the organization.
The Quality and Medical Staff Manager will also be responsible
for coordinating the daily operation of the Staff Office function.
Supervisory responsibility for Credentialing, Peer Review, and
Ongoing Clinical Practice. Will oversee Credentialing team members
and OPPE/FPPE team member.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in a health care related
field required. An advanced degree in a health care related field
Minimum Experience: Four (4) years of experience in a health
care setting preferred. Knowledge of risk management principles and
issues regarding patient safety preferred. Strong leadership skills
Certification/Licensure: Current New Mexico/Multi State
licensure as a Registered Nurse. Certification by National
Association of Healthcare Quality desirable. Certified Healthcare
Professional (NAMSS) preferred.
