Job Description:

Peraton has an opportunity for a Customer Liaison Systems Engineer in Las Cruces, NM to support the Technical Operations and Analysis Department at the White Sand Complex working on new and existing NASA Space Network projects. As the prime contractor on the SENSE Contract, Peraton is responsible for the Operations, Maintenance, Sustainment and Systems engineering of satellite communication systems for NASA. This position will support the Near Space Network (NSN) and act as the contractor liaison between assigned for new and existing mission customers for Human Space Flight and the NASA Networks (Space Network (SN) and Near-Earth Network (NEN). Working closely with the NSN counterpart (i.e. Network Integration Manager), this position will gather and resolve communications requirements and facilitate the successful integration of the missions into the Networks. This position is responsible for the following: Act as the SENSE Point of Contact (POC) to NASA contractor and civil servant personnel for assigned missions and take responsibility to ensure all integration efforts are proceeding as planned by closely monitoring Project Schedule progress, identifying and elevating risks, facilitating communications across all Network elements, and regularly reporting status to SENSE and NASA management.Coordinate and facilitate Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and reviews with the SN, NEN, and other service providers (CSO, FDF, EDOS, etc.) to plan and execute the integration of new (pre-Launch) missions into the Network Goddard Networks.Document relevant expected service levels and basic services, requirements, concept of operations (CONOPS), and test plans for each mission customer in a suite of NASA documents known as the NSN documentation set. Coordinate with stakeholders, generate operational messages, and provide on-console support for integration testing and LEOP.Configure, monitor, troubleshoot test configurations and generate discrepancy reports for unresolved Network issues.Position is subject to support events that occur during night shift and weekends. Travel may be required one to three times a year to participate in TIMs and reviews; travel is mostly domestic, but foreign travel may be necessary.Required QualificationsAssociate degree in a technical field, and 2+ years related technical experience.In lieu of formal education, 6 years of technical experience is allowable. Knowledge of satellite ground station operations, mission management, flight dynamics, and system integration. 2+ years" experience developing and resolving technical requirements2+ years" experience creating technical documentation2+ years" experience in requirements verification and testing2+ years experience working satellite scheduling and operationsExperienced with Microsoft Word and PowerPointSecurity Clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship. Desired QualificationsExperience with satellite communications networks, and more specifically the operation of the SN, the TDRS constellation, and/or the Direct To NEN.Experience working with NASA s Human Space Flight (HSF) ProgramExperience overseeing a project and ensuring it conforms to planned costs, schedule, and scopeExcellent communication skills, verbal and written.
