Job Description Front Desk / Information Clerk Desirable
Attributes: Interest in working with individuals who are
experiencing homelessness or are near homeless, with an empathy and
understanding of the issues they face. Minimum Requirements
Education : High School Diploma Licenses/ Certification: Valid NM
Driver---s License and current auto liability insurance, a copy of
which must always be on file and up to date in personnel file.
Essential Job Functions: 1. Answer phones and greet clients and
visitors in a professional manner; transfer calls; check voicemail
2. Receive and distribute agency and client mail 3. Coordinate
clients with housing case managers 4. Input client data 5. Ensure
clients, donors and visitors are welcomed and signed in to see the
appropriate staff 6. Coordinate pro bono legal clinic 7. Work
closely with case managers to ensure housing goal for clients 8.
Supervise clients in the lobby area 9. Ensure clients are
signing-in for appropriate services and document the sign-in sheet
data 10. Assist with organizing donations for clients entering
housing programs and utilizing day shelter services 11. Other
duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have at
least an interest and empathy for individuals who are experiencing
homelessness. Knowledge of basic case management, diverse
populations, homelessness, mental illness, physical health
problems, etc. Can integrate boundaries while maintaining
confidentiality in a compassionate, understanding manner; able to
take direction from others within the agency; able to work
independently and efficiently while communicating with others.
Physical Factors: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to
discern verbal instructions, use telephone, and effectively
communicate with both internal and external clients; visual acuity
sufficient to comprehend written work instructions, technical
documents and diagrams, and perform required field work; manual
dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including
a personal computer and operate a motor vehicle; ability to lift up
to 15 pounds. Salary Salary is contingent upon education and
