Recruitment SummaryDona Ana Community College (DACC) is a
comprehensive, learning-centered community college dedicated to a
diverse population of learners in support of student success,
workforce and economic development and lifelong learning.
Established in 1973 at the request of the Gadsden, Hatch and Las
Cruces school boards, DACC continues to meet the educational needs
of county residents by providing instruction leading to associate
degrees and technical certificates as well as community and adult
education opportunities. As the second largest community college in

opportunities to more than 18,000 students annually with eight

Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministers, proctors, scores and
transmits results of all tests administered by the Testing Center.
Observes college, state/federal, and test agency policies and
procedures for security/confidentiality of testing records;
includes adherence to FERPA as it relates to PCC and testing
services. Adhere to the exam sponsors pricing at all times when
registering and scheduling candidates for exams in Registration
Manager. Follows federal, state, and agency regulations and
policies and ensures compliance with regulations and test
security.Maintains Testing Center statistics including number of
people tested, number of tests given and type of tests. Prepares
monthly and annual reports and makes recommendations to the
supervisor concerning staffing and programming
implications.Provides excellent customer service to students and
visitors seeking information about GED - testing and other exam
services. Refers students who need advising, counseling, or other
support services to appropriate offices.Assists area high schools
with training and site set up information for computerized
placement testing. Communicates with high schools regarding changes
in placement rules and issues that may arise regarding placement
testing. Coordinates and provides special proctor services for
other departments, outside certification agencies or other colleges
and universities.Works closely with IT department to make sure that
test computers are updated as needed. Ensures that equipment is
working properly daily. Work with test sponsors to run updates as
needed for administering their exams.Assist with Orientations,
contacting students who might need placement. In charge of updates
to the DACC Testing Center's webpage. Follows guidelines for
maintaining general test security. Follows any special instructions
particular to individual test situations. Forwards results as
required. Engages in professional development activities.
Represents the Testing Center on appropriate student services
meetings; performs all other related duties as
assigned.Classification SummaryProvides information and
registration materials on 15 national tests and is responsible for
every facet of test administration including the ordering and
security of test materials.Classification Standard
DutiesSupervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of
assigned staff. Takes daily inventory of test materials arriving
from testing companies. Schedules test personnel and room
facilities. Administers the GED test three times each week in both
English and Spanish. Gives public presentations regarding available
testing service that are both national and institutional including
those offered through the Counseling Center's Career Lab. Completes
reports and audits required by the national testing companies.
Instructs and trains in methods and procedures.
KnowledgeUniversity and Department policies and procedures;
principles and practices of organization and administration;
University environment; principles of supervision, training, and
performance evaluation. Technical knowledge is used for test score
interpretation and using an array of equipment from scantron
machines to computer software for the generation of the generation
of score transcripts; broad knowledge of test security.
SkillsShort- and long-range planning; problem analysis and
resolution; public contact; report preparation and presentation;
skill in tracking sensitive data.
AbilitiesDirect, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of
assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral

initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and
evaluate information; operate a computer; ability to be certified
by the state of New Mexico as a chief examiner for the GED.
Required EducationBachelor's degree in a related field.
Required ExperienceThree (3) years of experience related to the
standard duties as outlinedEquivalency Any equivalent combination
of education, training and/or experience as approved by
HumanResource Services.
Preferred QualificationsBilingual English/Spanish

Other Departmental RequirementsMust be able to obtain
certifications for PearsonVue, CLEP, HiSET, and Accuplacerwithin 1
