Job Summary
The Echocardiography Technician Trainee assists while training to work with echocardiography examinations for subsequent evaluation and interpretation by a physician under the supervision and guidance of assigned preceptor. Assists with the operation of Diagnostic ECG/Echocardiography equipment. - Assists and trainings to conduct studies to include Echocardiograms 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, contrast, stress echo, and transesophageal. - Provides care to patients of varying ages and age-related needs under the supervision and guidance of an assigned Preceptor. Minimum Job Requirements Work Experience: Clinical rotations required. License/Registration/Certification: Current CPR required. Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Confirmation of active education enrollment in an Associates of Applied Science in Diagnostic Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology or Ultrasound program required. - Degree completion must be within one year of being in this position. Skills

• Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Knowledgeable with Infection Control Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for healthcare professional
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (face mask, goggles, latex/non-latex gloves) as needed.
• Must be mature and responsible, able to use initiative and independent judgment when necessary, and capable of working without supervision within guidelines established by the supervisor.
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of Echocardiography, EKG, and other special cardiac diagnostic equipment.
• Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of an Echocardiography Technician. Knowledge of ultrasound techniques should be thorough. -
• Possesses effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledgeable of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to work effectively within role and with other team members.
• Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
• Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.
• Ability to understand medical/surgical Terminology
• Ability to perform basic computer keyboard skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
